Ingredients

  • For the Shake:
    • 2 cups vanilla ice cream (about 4 scoops)
    • 1 cup whole milk
    • 1/2 cup white cake mix (dry, heat-treated for safety)
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 2 tbsp rainbow sprinkles (plus extra for garnish)
    • 1/4 cup whipped cream (for topping)
  • For the Glass Rim (Optional):
    • 1/4 cup vanilla frosting
    • 2 tbsp rainbow sprinkles

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Small bowl (for frosting, if decorating glass)
  • Tall glasses for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat-Treat Cake Mix (for safety): Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the dry cake mix on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes to kill any bacteria. Let cool completely before using.
  2. Prepare Glass Rim (Optional): Spread a thin layer of vanilla frosting around the rim of each glass. Place sprinkles in a small bowl and dip the frosted rim into the sprinkles to coat. Set glasses aside.
  3. Blend the Shake: In a blender, combine vanilla ice cream, milk, heat-treated cake mix, and vanilla extract. Blend on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 30-45 seconds. Add 2 tbsp rainbow sprinkles and pulse briefly (2-3 seconds) to mix without breaking them up too much.
  4. Serve: Pour the shake into the prepared glasses. Top each with a dollop of whipped cream and a pinch of extra sprinkles for garnish.
  5. Enjoy: Serve immediately with a straw or spoon for a fun, festive treat!

Tips

  • Make it Thicker or Thinner: Adjust milk (less for thicker, more for thinner).
  • Dairy-Free Option: Use dairy-free ice cream and milk alternatives.
  • Storage: Best enjoyed fresh, but you can store leftovers in the freezer for up to 1 hour; re-blend before serving.
