Ingredients
- Hibiscus Tea Concentrate:
- 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers (or 4 hibiscus tea bags)
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup honey or simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Espresso:
- 1 shot (1 oz) freshly brewed espresso, cooled
- Sparkling Water:
- 1/2 cup sparkling water (chilled)
- Additional:
- Ice cubes
- 1 slice of orange or lemon (for garnish)
- Optional: Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Instructions
- Prepare Hibiscus Tea Concentrate:
- In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the dried hibiscus flowers or tea bags and reduce heat to a simmer.
- Let simmer for 5-7 minutes until the water turns a deep red color.
- Remove from heat and stir in honey or simple syrup until dissolved.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a container, discarding the solids. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.
- Brew Espresso:
- Prepare 1 shot (1 oz) of espresso using an espresso machine or moka pot.
- Allow the espresso to cool to room temperature or chill it in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
- Assemble the Spritz:
- Fill a tall glass or cocktail glass with ice cubes.
- Pour 2 oz of the chilled hibiscus tea concentrate over the ice.
- Add the cooled espresso shot and gently stir to combine.
- Top off the glass with 1/2 cup of chilled sparkling water for a fizzy finish.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish with a slice of orange or lemon for a citrusy touch.
- Optionally, add a sprig of fresh mint for an aromatic flourish.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing blend of flavors.
Tips
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey/simple syrup to the hibiscus tea concentrate.
- For a stronger coffee flavor, use a double shot of espresso.
