Ingredients

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (about 20-24 wings)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

For the Peach BBQ Sauce:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen peaches, peeled and diced (about 2 medium peaches)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Garnish (Optional):

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or green onions
  • Sliced fresh peaches

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack (optional, for crispier wings)
  • Medium saucepan
  • Blender or immersion blender
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Tongs

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Wings

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top (if using).
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the baking sheet or wire rack.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.

Step 2: Make the Peach BBQ Sauce

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the diced peaches, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  2. Stir the mixture and bring it to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the peaches are soft and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  3. Remove from heat and use a blender or immersion blender to puree the sauce until smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of water to reach desired consistency.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Set aside.

Step 3: Coat the Wings

  1. Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large clean mixing bowl.
  2. Pour the peach BBQ sauce over the wings and toss gently with tongs to coat evenly. Reserve some sauce for dipping, if desired.

Step 4: Final Bake (Optional for Sticky Wings)

  1. Return the sauced wings to the baking sheet.
  2. Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes at 400°F (200°C) to set the sauce and make it slightly caramelized and sticky.

Step 5: Serve

  1. Transfer the wings to a serving platter.
  2. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions and fresh peach slices, if desired.
  3. Serve immediately with extra peach BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: The peach BBQ sauce can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • Grilling Option: Instead of baking, grill the wings over medium heat (350°F/175°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping occasionally, then toss with the sauce.
  • Storage: Leftover wings can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes.
  • Serving Suggestions: Pair with coleslaw, cornbread, or sweet potato fries for a complete meal.
