Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Cold Brew Coffee
- Grind Coffee: Coarsely grind 1 cup of coffee beans.
- Combine with Water: In a large jar or pitcher, combine the ground coffee with 4 cups of cold filtered water. Stir gently to ensure all grounds are wet.
- Steep: Cover and let steep in the refrigerator for 12–24 hours.
- Strain: After steeping, strain the coffee through a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer into a clean container. Discard the grounds. Store the cold brew in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Step 2: Make the S’mores Syrup
- Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate syrup, marshmallow fluff, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and water.
- Heat and Stir: Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and fully combined, about 3–5 minutes. Do not let it boil.
- Cool: Remove from heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Step 3: Prepare the Graham Cracker Crumble
- Crush Graham Crackers: Place graham crackers in a zip-top bag and crush them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin, or pulse in a food processor.
- Mix Crumble: In a small bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, brown sugar, and a pinch of cinnamon (if using). Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated and resemble wet sand.
- Set Aside: Store the crumble in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Step 4: Assemble the S’mores Campfire Cold Brew
- Prepare Glass: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Add Syrup: Pour 2 tablespoons of s’mores syrup over the ice.
- Add Cold Brew: Pour 1 cup of cold brew coffee into the glass.
- Add Milk: Top with 1/2 cup of milk and stir gently to combine.
- Garnish: Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of graham cracker crumble over the top. Add a dollop of whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or mini marshmallows for extra flair, if desired.
- Serve: Serve immediately with a straw or stir stick.
Tips
- Cold Brew Strength: Adjust the coffee-to-water ratio for stronger or weaker cold brew. For a stronger brew, use 1.5 cups of coffee grounds.
- Syrup Variations: Add a pinch of smoked salt to the s’mores syrup for a true “campfire” flavor.
- Make Ahead: Prepare the cold brew and s’mores syrup in advance to save time.
- Vegan Option: Use plant-based milk and vegan marshmallow fluff for a dairy-free version.
