- 4 hot dog buns
- 2 tablespoons butter for toasting buns
Optional Toppings:

Instructions
Make the Sweet & Spicy Relish:
- In a medium bowl, combine the dill pickle relish, honey, apple cider vinegar, and sriracha sauce.
- Add red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, diced red onion, and jalapeño.
- Mix well and let sit for at least 15 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Can be made up to 2 days ahead and refrigerated.
Prepare the Hot Dogs:
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat, or heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- If grilling: Cook hot dogs for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally until evenly browned and heated through.
- If using skillet: Add a splash of water to the pan, add hot dogs, and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning frequently.
Toast the Buns:
- Slice buns lengthwise if not pre-sliced.
- Butter the inside of each bun lightly.
- Toast on grill or in a dry skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
Assembly:
- Place each hot dog in a toasted bun.
- Generously top with the sweet & spicy relish.
- Add any additional toppings as desired.
- Serve immediately while hot.
Tips:
- Taste the relish and adjust sweetness with more honey or heat with additional sriracha
- The relish gets better as it sits, so making it ahead is recommended
- For extra flavor, try grilling the hot dogs over charcoal
- Serve with crispy potato chips or coleslaw on the side
