Ingredients:
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon culinary-grade dried lavender buds
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- Fresh lavender sprigs (optional, for garnish)
Equipment:
- Blender
- Small saucepan
- Fine mesh strainer
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Glasses for serving
Instructions:
- Prepare the Lavender-Infused Milk:
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of whole milk with 1 teaspoon of dried lavender buds.
- Heat over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the milk is warm but not boiling.
- Remove from heat and let it steep for 10 minutes.
- Strain the milk through a fine mesh strainer into a clean container to remove the lavender buds. Let it cool to room temperature.
- Blend the Shake:
- In a blender, combine 2 cups of vanilla ice cream, the cooled lavender-infused milk, 2 tablespoons of honey, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Blend on medium-high speed for 30-45 seconds, or until smooth and creamy. If the shake is too thick, add a splash of regular milk to reach desired consistency.
- Serve:
- Pour the shake into chilled glasses.
- Top with whipped cream, if desired.
- Garnish with a fresh lavender sprig for an elegant touch.
Notes:
- Ensure the lavender is culinary-grade, as some varieties are not safe for consumption.
- Adjust honey to taste for desired sweetness.
- For a lighter version, use low-fat milk or a non-dairy alternative like almond or oat milk.
- Chill glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving to keep the shake cold.
