Ingredients:

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon culinary-grade dried lavender buds
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh lavender sprigs (optional, for garnish)

Equipment:

  • Blender
  • Small saucepan
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Glasses for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Lavender-Infused Milk:
    • In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of whole milk with 1 teaspoon of dried lavender buds.
    • Heat over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the milk is warm but not boiling.
    • Remove from heat and let it steep for 10 minutes.
    • Strain the milk through a fine mesh strainer into a clean container to remove the lavender buds. Let it cool to room temperature.
  2. Blend the Shake:
    • In a blender, combine 2 cups of vanilla ice cream, the cooled lavender-infused milk, 2 tablespoons of honey, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
    • Blend on medium-high speed for 30-45 seconds, or until smooth and creamy. If the shake is too thick, add a splash of regular milk to reach desired consistency.
  3. Serve:
    • Pour the shake into chilled glasses.
    • Top with whipped cream, if desired.
    • Garnish with a fresh lavender sprig for an elegant touch.

Notes:

  • Ensure the lavender is culinary-grade, as some varieties are not safe for consumption.
  • Adjust honey to taste for desired sweetness.
  • For a lighter version, use low-fat milk or a non-dairy alternative like almond or oat milk.
  • Chill glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving to keep the shake cold.
